ATLANTA – The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fought hard against Berry, but the 2024 season ended with a 19–5 loss to the Vikings.
Xay Duax made a career high of 26 saves, caused three turnovers, and recovered nine groundballs. Jazz Washington led the offense with two goals, and Hinton Chandler had nine groundballs.
Berry managed to make the first three goals of the game, but the Petrels did not make it easy for them. Israel Pendleton-Moore scored late in the first quarter, but the Vikings responded with another two goals of their own.
Berry was able to gain a larger lead in the second quarter, and Washington's goal was not enough to soften the 15-2 halftime deficit.
Scoring slowed in the third quarter, as Oglethorpe prevented Berry from scoring for the first five minutes. Even after the Vikings snuck in a goal, Quade Bedgood was quick with a response.
Washington scored his second goal near the end of the period, but Berry got the final say. As both teams showed fatigue in the fourth quarter, the only two goals came in the last three minutes. First from Hinton Chandler, then Berry sealed the 19-5 final score to end Oglethorpe's 2024 season.
