JACKSON, Miss.—Keimarya Rivera led with a double-double and Oglethorpe had a fourth-quarter lead over top-seeded Millsaps, but in the end the Stormy Petrels lost to the Majors 63-58 Friday night in the Southern Athletic Association semifinals. Rivera, the first of three Petrels in double figures, finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds, her 10th double-double of the season and 26th double-double of her career.
Oglethorpe finished the season 15-12 overall and led by as many as 10 in the final 10 minutes. A huge Millsaps run brought the game back to a tie, but the Petrels still got the lead back with under four minutes to go after a basket from Rivera. This would be the last basket for Oglethorpe, however, as Millsaps finished the final three and a half minutes on a 7-0 run.
