LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.—The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels traveled to Lookout Mountain for a battle against Covenant on Wednesday. The men had a hard fight but managed to take the win 4-3 in the end while the women's team fell 7-0 after a series of hard-fought matches.
Sam Wasko and Jefferson Page started the day in the top doubles spot with a hard-fought set winning in the end 6-4. Figge Pernfors and Kellen Simmons followed suit with another 6-4 doubles win at No. 2.
That was enough to earn the doubles point, then in singles Noah George held firm, both sets ended 6-1 to secure another point for the Stormy Petrels. Figge Pernfors had to go to a tiebreak after going 1-6, 6-1 in the first two sets, but he managed to take the third. Bailey Raymond also won after a great first set 6-4 and a better second one 6-1.
For the women Maddie Nolen and Taylor Glover also fought hard in their doubles but lost that one too, 6-3, with Karina Lopez and Apsana Rai losing 6-3 as well.
Taylor Glover had the closest singles match of the day but narrowly lost it in the end 6-3, 6-4. Mia Geveke had similar luck at No. 4 singles where despite her best efforts she lost 6-3, 6-3.

The women will host Agnes Scott on Saturday, March 22, at 11 a.m. before both teams will take on Piedmont at home on March 25-26.
