Men’s tennis wins fourth straight match

ROME, Ga.—The Oglethorpe men's and women's tennis teams went to Rome, Georgia, for a battle against the teams of Millsaps College. The Men's team had a great day and won 5-0 for their fourth straight win while the women had a harder time and lost it 4-0.

The match, originally scheduled to be played at Downing Howell Tennis Courts, was moved to Rome Tennis Center due to inclement weather.

Kellen Simmons and Figge Pernfors at No. 2 and Callum Searle and Zack Raymond at No. 3 doubles clinched the doubles point for the Stormy Petrels. Simmons/Pernfors won 6-3 while Searle/Raymond won 6-1.

In the singles, they had similar success starting with Simmons. After going to a third set, he pulled out a win 1-6, 6-0, 10-8. Following suit, both Sam Wasko and Jefferson Page also went to a third set and both won, Wasko 6-3, 4-6, 11-9 and Jefferson Page 6-4, 4-6, 10-0.
