ATLANTA—A grand slam in the second and a two-run shot in the sixth from Ryan Causey highlighted an explosive offense, but Oglethorpe's baseball team dropped the finale of a three-game Southern Athletic Association series to Sewanee 16-9 Sunday afternoon at Hermance Stadium.
Oglethorpe fell behind 3-0 on a homer in the top of the second but bounced back with seven runs to take the lead in the bottom half. It was tied 3-3 when Causey stepped to the plate with the bases loaded, and he sent a no-doubter over the left-field fence on a 0-1 pitch to make it 7-3.
Sewanee had a bounceback of its own in the third to take the lead, and that lead would remain the rest of the game.
