ATLANTA- The Oglethorpe women's tennis team nearly pulled off a victory against Agnes Scott College at home on Thursday, falling 4-3.
Match Highlights
- Nicole Sanchez had a tremendous comeback. She trailed 5-2 in the opening set but rallied to win it in a tiebreak before running away with the second set, winning 7-6 (1), 6-0.
- Sanchez's match tied the score 2-2.
- A back and forth first set for Apsana Rai ended with a 6-4 victory as she also rallied back from an early deficit. Her second set was a dominating one, ending 6-2.
- Geianah Thomas fought from behind after falling in the first set, battling to a tiebreak in the second, but fell in the breaker 7-2.
- Agnes Scott started the day by taking the doubles point. Taylor Glover and Luisa Gorgoll went back and forth in their doubles match but ultimately fell 6-4. Grace Elsevier and Rai also fell 6-3 in their matches despite climbing back from a 4-1 hole to get to 4-3.

The Petrels will travel to Orlando, Florida, to play a sequence of matches during spring break. They will return home on Thursday, March 19, to take on Covenant College at 4 p.m.
