MEMPHIS - The No. 4 seed Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fell 19-4 to the No. 1 seed Rhodes Lynx in the Southern Athletic Association semifinals Thursday afternoon, ending the 2026 season.
Anna Conza and Savannah Freeman led with two goals each. Madelyn Gardner, the SAA goalkeeper of the year, made 15 saves, and Ellis Mitchum won four draw controls. Anna Ramsden made one assist, won three draw controls, and had two ground balls. Freeman also had three ground balls.Â
Rhodes dominated the first quarter, managing to score nine goals while preventing the Petrels from making any. Oglethorpe was unable to score until the end of the third quarter, when Freeman broke through the Lynx defense. Conza scored twice in the fourth quarter, and the game ended with another goal by Freeman. Mitchum won the final draw control, but time ran out before either team could score again and the Petrels fell 19-4.
