ATLANTA - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels battled the No. 9 Emory Eagles Friday evening, falling 5-0 to the crosstown rivals.
Goalie Katherine Crim made a season high of 10 saves and Ella Nuzum took two shots.
Emory scored their first goal early on, but the Petrels were able to hold them off for the rest of the first period.
The Eagles scored back-to-back goals at the top of the second half and continued to play keep-away from the Petrels. With about 20 minutes remaining, Masha Renggli relieved Crim and ultimately tallied two saves of her own. Emory got two more goals, with the final shot hitting the net with eight minutes on the clock. Oglethorpe kept the ball from returning to Emory's attacking third, but time ran out and the Petrels took a 5-0 loss.

- Emory was ranked No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches regional preseason poll back in August, then No. 9 in September 22nd's rankings.
- Crim also recorded last year's season high of 11 saves in the Emory game.

The Stormy Petrels will begin Southern Athletic Association play on Wednesday, Sept. 30, at 5:30 p.m. The next home game will be Sunday, Oct. 4, at 12 p.m. against Centre.
