Jordy Paulemon is in his first season as an assistant coach of the Oglethorpe University men’s and women’s track & field teams. Paulemon’s primary responsibility is working with the program’s throwers.
Prior to coming to Oglethorpe, Paulemon worked as an assistant coach at New York University and Trinity School in Manhattan, New York. At NYU, he coached three regional qualifiers and two top three finalists at conference championships. At Trinity, Paulemon helped lead the team to claim the 2020 Indoor Track & Field Ivy League Prep School and NYSAAIS Champions titles for both the men’s and women’s varsity teams. Paulemon coached two individual first place finishers in women’s weight throw for both Ivy and NYSAAIS Championships and each broke school records. On the men's side, Paulemon coached second, third and fourth place finishers in men’s weight throw for Ivy’s, and the second and third place finishers for the NYSAAIS Championships. All of which broke school records.
A 2012 graduate of Villanova University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, Paulemon was a three-year member of the Wildcats’ football team, including the squad that reached the NCAA FCS National Semifinals in 2010. Paulemon went on to earn a Master of Education from Hofstra University in 2014.
Paulemon currently competes for USA Track & Field (USATF) in the shot-put, discus, and hammer throw. He won the shot-put event at both the 2016 and 2017 USATF Connecticut Club Indoor Championships, the discus throw at the New York State Club Championships in 2015 and 2018, as well as the Hammer throw in 2018.
