Margaret Fox

Margaret Fox came to Oglethorpe in 2023 as an assistant track & field coach.

Fox has coached multiple all-conference and all-academic honorees in her time at Oglethorpe.

Prior to Oglethorpe

Most recently, Fox served Hebron Christian Academy as track & field head coach for nearly 10 years. While coaching at the high school level, Fox produced six individual state champions and the 2021 girls 1A state champion team.

From 2002 to 2004, she was University of Nebraska's assistant recruiting coordinator.

Fox began her professional career after she represented Canada in the 2000 Olympic games. This followed a decorated running career at Rice University from 1996 until her graduation in 2000. At Rice, Fox earned several accolades over her collegiate career. She was the 1996 NCAA Division I 4x400m champion, 1997, 1998, and 1999 4x400m relay champion, and a three-time NCAA All-American. The 1999 relay team still holds the Rice program record.

Fox graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from Rice in 2000 and has since been inducted into their athletics hall of fame. She earned a master's degree in nutrition from Nebraska in 2004.

Fox and her husband Terrance have seven children, the oldest of whom is Malia Melton, a standout for Oglethorpe’s women's basketball and track & field teams.
