Assistant Coach for Sprints and Horizontal Jumps 

Qwazon Al Khaliq joined Oglethorpe in 2023 as assistant track & field coach. 

Prior to Oglethorpe

Al Khaliq comes to Oglethorpe after serving University of Northern Colorado as assistant track coach. Before coaching, Al Khaliq was a graduate student with Northern Colorado and served as a learning coordinator, assisting all students with their academics. In 2021 he was a world trials qualifier and in 2020 an Olympic trials qualifier for triple jump. 

Al Khaliq graduated with honors from University of Northern Colorado earlier this year with a masters in sports administration. While with the Bears, he claimed one conference championship title and set the school's record for triple jump with a 16.30 meter mark. Before graduate school, Al Khaliq earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Kennesaw State University in 2021. As an Owl he claimed six conference championship titles and was a four-time academic All-American.
