Oglethorpe University

Hannah Banfiel joined Oglethorpe’s athletics staff as sports information assistant in summer 2024 after serving the department in a student capacity starting in 2020. 

In her current role, Banfiel serves on the sports information department’s media team leading many of the digital media initiatives for the athletics website and athletics social media. Banfiel also contributes to other day-to-day content for Oglethorpe’s athletics social media and helps coordinate much of the gameday and postgame posting for specific team accounts.

Banfiel began working in the sports information office as a student in 2020, initially serving as student photographer and social media manager for Oglethorpe. Over the four years of her student career, she expanded her role by becoming the primary social media manager for the athletics department, creating graphics, taking photos and generating all the posting content for @GoPetrels.
