Kasey Nelson joined Oglethorpe’s athletics staff as assistant director of sports information for game operations during the 2022-23 year. In this role, Nelson assists with game operations and logistics for home athletic events.
Prior to Oglethorpe
Nelson is a recent graduate of NC State University, graduating in May 2021 with a bachelor's degree in communication and an emphasis in public relations. She was a four-year starter for Wolfpack Gymnastics and a two-time WCGA Academic All-American.
In addition to her student-athlete perspective, Nelson brings to the role her experience working in collegiate athletics and higher education. Most recently, she served in Kennesaw State University's sports information department, where she interviewed and wrote feature stories on athletes and coaches.
Prior to KSU, Nelson served as a social media intern for the BodyARMOR State Games of North Carolina, covering athletic events and writing profiles. Additionally, she worked for NC State's department of communication as a PR intern, responsible for interviewing and writing articles on staff, students, and alumni.

Nelson earned her bachelor’s degree in communication and an emphasis in public relations from NC State in 2021. She is a native of Marietta, Georgia, and currently resides in Atlanta.
