Petrels to Face Tough Competition in Oregon

The women's basketball team is in Portland, Ore. at the campus of Lewis and Clark for tournament games tonight and tomorrow. The Petrels face Puget Sound tonight and Lewis and Clark tomorrow and both opponents are receiving votes towards D3hoops.com's Top 25.

The contest against Puget Sound will tip off on Friday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern. Both the Petrels and Loggers are 0-1 on the young season but the Loggers are coming off a 2009-2010 campaign that saw them post a sparkling 24-5 record. Puget Sound earned an invitation to the 2010 NCAA Tournament where they lost to 2008 National Champion George Fox. The game against host Lewis and Clark will tip off at 11:00 p.m. Eastern on Saturday night. The Pioneers are currently 1-0 on the season after winning their opener over Evergreen State, 68-51. Hailing from the powerful Northwest Conference, the Pioneers posted a 16-10 mark in 2009-10. Currently, Lewis and Clark stands in 38th place of the most recent D3hoops.com poll after receiving 15 votes from coaches across the country.
