Petrels draw at Berry to end regular season

ROME, Ga. - In the last match of the regular season, Oglethorpe and the Berry College Vikings tied 0-0. This game was an important one for both teams heading to the Southern Athletic Association tournament, as the Stormy Petrels were able to secure the six seed and the Viking secured the No. 2 seed.

The Vikings were anxious to get the ball rolling, taking the first shot just 25 seconds into the game. Berry went on to take 12 shots in the first period, two of which were saved by goalkeeper Haley Lowell. The Petrels were also unable to score, and struggled to find an opportunity to take a shot.

In the second half, Berry once again took the first shot early on, but it was saved by Lowell. At nearly 10 minutes into the period, sophomore Mackenzie Jones took Oglethorpe's sole shot of the game, but was unable to score. The Vikings would take 11 more shots, three of which were saved by Haley Lowell. Berry took a final shot with just under 30 seconds remaining, but to no avail. The final game of the regular season, for both teams, ended in a 0-0 tie.
