Petrels see draw at Millsaps

JACKSON, Miss. - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels had a hard-fought Friday night battle with the Majors of Millsaps, which ultimately ended in a scoreless draw. 

The Petrels and the Majors battled for dominance throughout the first half, as neither team scored. Oglethorpe was able to take four shots, while Millsaps only took one which was saved by goalkeeper Haley Lowell. 

The second period mirrored the first, with both teams battling to score the first goal. Taylor Whiteside took Oglethorpe's only shot on goal halfway through the period, but it was saved by Millsaps goalkeeper Emily Lozano. The game remained deadlocked until the clock ran out. For the period, Oglethorpe took eight shots and Millsaps took two. 

Overall, the Petrels took 12 shots. Kirsten Brown, Harlow Cregar, Devyn Canty and Whiteside all took two shots each. Millsaps took three shots in total, two of which were on goal.
