BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Tuli Mwarumba scored his second goal of the season in the 17th minute, and the Oglethorpe men's soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw at Birmingham Southern Sunday afternoon.
Mwarumba was assisted by Dylan Bapst who tallied his third helper of the season, and Oglethorpe looked to be on its way to its third Southern Athletic Association win. However, Birmingham Southern was able to equalize on a penalty kick in the 85th minute to secure the draw.
The final shot tally was one of the lowest of the season for both teams as Oglethorpe led it 4-2, including 3-1 on shots on goal. Stephen Summerow and Ethan Nunes accounted for the other two shots on goal for the Stormy Petrels.
