PORTLAND, Ore. – Nine Petrels made their way into the scoring column, but Oglethorpe women's basketball team came up on the short end of a 63-32 loss at Pacific Friday night. The loss was the first of the season for the Stormy Petrels.
Freshman Morgan Skipper scored six points off the bench, and Gabby Hudson and Adrianna Atkinson both chipped in with five, but Pacific quickly pulled away with the first eight points of the game as part of a 27-8 run to start the game. Oglethorpe trailed by 20 at the break and got not close in the second half despite outscoring Pacific in the fourth quarter.
Up next, Oglethorpe faces Linfield Saturday at 5 p.m. eastern time to finish its trip out west. The Stormy Petrels will then be home for the following game on Tuesday, Nov. 22, to face Mississippi University for Women.
