Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women’s basketball falls in exciting SAA opener

ROME, Ga. – Career highs from three players and the first collegiate double-double from Keimarya Rivera were not enough for the Oglethorpe women's basketball team, which fell to Berry 52-51 in the closing seconds Saturday on the road.

The game saw four lead changes in the final two minutes, including the final lead change on two made free throws by Berry with under 10 seconds left.

Rose Dolmovich, who scored a career-high 13 points, hit a huge 3-pointer on Oglethorpe's penultimate possession to give the Stormy Petrels the lead with 30 seconds to go. It answered a made 3-pointer from Berry seconds early on the other end, but the Vikings again had the answer with Kenadie Lee, who made that 3-pointer, making both free throws to win the game.

Oglethorpe and Berry went back and forth all 40 minutes, with 10 ties, 13 lead changes and neither team leading by more seven. In fact, Oglethorpe answered Berry's seven-point first-half lead with one of the biggest runs of the day, outscoring Berry 14-4 including seven unanswered points midway through the second quarter. Dolmovich hit another one of her three triples to start that run early in the period.
