Petrels take a hard fall against Centre

ATLANTA - After a tough game against the Colonels of Centre College, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels ultimately fell 22-11 on Saturday.

Sophomore Ally Moir led the team with seven goals, after taking eight shots on goal.

The Colonels started off the first quarter strong, making six goals while keeping Oglethorpe from scoring. Moir kicked off the second quarter with a goal for the Petrels, as she and Makenna Bowens slowly brought Oglethorpe up to speed. Unfortunately, the Petrels headed into halftime still behind the Colonels at 14-4.

The third quarter and fourth quarter saw Oglethorpe continue the fight to get back on top, and Centre ended victorious at 22-11.

Overall, the Petrels caused 24 turnovers, went 7-for-12 on clears, scooped 26 ground balls, and won 15 draw controls. This is the team's third loss this season, as the Petrels are now at 7-3 overall and 1-2 in Southern Athletic Association play.

Oglethorpe will travel to Birmingham Southern for its next game on Saturday, April 2, at 3 p.m.
