Addison Irwin recorded his fifth straight game of 20 or more saves, but the Oglethorpe men's lacrosse team lost against Birmingham Southern College at a home game on Thursday. The final score was 18-2.
During the second quarter, Carsen Van Note scored unassisted with less than two minutes on the clock, and Max Brand also had an unassisted score at the beginning of the fourth quarter to round out Oglethorpe's scoring. Van Note scored his 12th goal of the season while Brand scored his 15th.
The Stormy Petrels maintained a strong defense with 24 saves from Irwin in comparison to Birmingham Southern's 10. Irwin currently ranks No. 1 in saves per game in the Southern Athletic Association.
