Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s soccer draws opener with Illinois Wesleyan

ATLANTA – Sebastian Molina's goal in the 25th minute helped Oglethorpe's men's soccer team play Illinois Wesleyan to a 1-1 draw Friday evening on the campus of Emory University.

Molina's goal came after a great crossing pass from newcomer Dylan Bapst, who was credited the assist on the team's first goal of the season. Bapst sent in the low cross from near the goal line, finding Molina at the back post to make it 1-0 midway through the opening half.

Oglethorpe took that lead into the break but surrendered a goal early in the second half on a costly turnover near its own net. Illinois Wesleyan's Brody Seaton was there to capitalize and send the game back to a tie where it would remain the rest of the contest.

Oglethorpe produced the majority of the chances, putting nine shots on goal and forcing IWU goalkeeper Spencer Fulton to make eight saves. Ethan Nunes led in the shots on goal category with four while Tyler Castor took two shots on goal.
