Women’s soccer shuts out Huntingdon Hawks on home turf

ATLANTA - In the second home game of the season, Oglethorpe defeated the Huntingdon College Hawks 2-0.

Senior Kirsten Brown scored the first goal of the game just five minutes in. In a rare instance, the assist for this first goal came from goalkeeper Haley Lowell. The goal was Brown's first of the season and Lowell's first assist of her collegiate career.

Just six minutes into the second half, Brown scored the second and final goal of the game with an assist from Sarah Berg. This was Berg's first assist of the season, and the third of her collegiate career. Both teams continued to fight until the end of the period, as Howell made two saves from the Hawk's three shots. After Huntingdon's final shot with just 30 seconds remaining, the Petrels had claimed victory with a final score of 2-0.
