ATLANTA—On Friday night, the Oglethorpe men's soccer team crushed Birmingham Southern College in a 4-0 victory. The Stormy Petrels continued to be in hot form as they have won their last six matches.
From the very beginning of the match, Jon Akin's side came flying out of the gate. Just 41 seconds into the match, Adrian Levy scored to give the team the lead. JR Cozine had the assist. It was Levy's third goal of the season and Cozine's sixth assist of the season.
The second goal of the match came in the 38th minute as Ben Alram scored from a penalty kick. It was the junior's seventh goal of the season, and he would follow with his eighth goal of the season in the 53rd minute with Oglethorpe's third goal of the night. This one came off a great cross from Nicolas Sciarra, his third assist of the season.
The final goal of the night came just five minutes later from Cristian Medina after a great through ball from Levy. It was Medina's third goal of the season and Levy's third assist of the season.
It was a five-star performance from the players. The Stormy Petrels continued to show how dangerous they are with their exciting style of play and with their array of talent. Akin and his coaching staff will be pleased with how the team has been performing so far this season. This team will be a terrifying force to be reckoned with if they can continue in the form they are in for the season's final stretch.
