Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late equalizer helps Petrels draw Birmingham Southern

ATLANTA- An own goal from Birmingham Southern in the 89th minute helped the Oglethorpe women's soccer program snatch a point Friday night after being a goal down just one minute earlier. Evan Thomas was in the right place at the right time as the freshman's run past the Birmingham defenders and her dangerous cross that deflected past BSC goalkeeper Grace Elsevier is what resulted in the own goal.

It was a tough match for Rob King's side against a tough opponent. Haley Lowell once again played a key role in making sure that Birmingham Southern could not convert on their chances as she had nine saves on the night. The coaching staff and players will be proud of their ability to fight back after conceding a cruel late goal.
