ATLANTA—Ella Price and Mackenzie Jones each scored twice, and the Oglethorpe women's soccer team defeated Millsaps 4-1 Sunday in a Southern Athletic Association matchup. The win came on senior day as the Petrels honored their three seniors pregame: Haley Lowell, Elizabeth Cortes and Taylor Whiteside.
It did not take long for Oglethorpe to get on the board as Price took a great pass from Jasmine Cardenas and found the back of the net in just the seventh minute. The score then remained that way into the second half before a scoring frenzy started in the 57th minute.
Mackenzie Jones scored to make it 2-0 on a great through ball from Harlow Cregar. Just five and a half minutes later, Millsaps made it 2-1 with a goal from Alexa Dubrow, but the Petrels were quick to respond as Jones delivered a long shot from the left side into the upper corner of the side netting for one of the top goals of the season. Maddie Ennis had the assist as her throw-in found Jones open for the opportunity.
The sequence of scoring in quick succession continued as Price scored again less than two minutes later on a breakaway goal that came following another great pass from Cregar.
