Oglethorpe was able to gain the lead at 15-14 and strengthened it with two more points after kills from Stephens and Kohler. Rhodes was ready for a fight and was the first to reach set point, but the Petrels did not allow them to win. After several tense minutes, Oglethorpe won the set 30-28.

The second set also began with Rhodes taking the lead, but the Petrels fought back once again. Just like the first set, Rhodes was the first to reach set point, but Oglethorpe won came back from 24-23 to win 26-24 after a kill from Stephens.

Everything was lined up for Oglethorpe to take a clean sweep, but Rhodes had a few tricks up their sleeves in the third set, winning 25-22.
