ATLANTA—Oglethorpe's Keimarya Rivera and Malia Melton led with eight points apiece and a combined 10 rebounds in a tough loss to crosstown foe No. 19 Emory Tuesday night on the road. The loss snapped the Stormy Petrels' four-game winning streak.Â
Emory scored on its opening possession and led the rest of the way, going up by eight by the end of the first quarter before extending the lead to 15 in the second.
Oglethorpe, which suffered only its second loss of the season to move to 5-2, made a run early in the second quarter to cut the deficit to two after a Rivera basket near the seven-minute mark, but Emory responded with a 19-6 run to go into a big lead for good.
