Moir leads Petrels in loss to Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga.—After a hot start to the season, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels looked to remain undefeated heading into their third contest of the season but fell just short, 20-11, to the Eagles of Reinhardt University.

Reinhardt opened the scoring and the Petrels followed soon after. Both teams kept trading goals throughout the game but a first-quarter Reinhardt 4-0 scoring run allowed the Eagles to take the lead.  Oglethorpe would go on to score the last three goals of the contest, but it was not enough in the end.

Junior Ally Moir once again led Oglethorpe's offensive play, totaling four points on the night by way of three goals and one assist. Efforts from Kaitlynn Alford were felt on both sides of the ball as the junior from Newnan, Georgia, recorded two goals and one assist with one ground ball and one caused turnover.

Kendall White added two goals and an assist, bringing her total goals scored to 10 in just three games.  Makenna Bowens matched White's two goals, scoring two goals of her own while also scooping a team-high three ground balls. Sydney Trammell and Anna Ramsden both added a goal each.

This is the first loss of Oglethorpe's season, now sitting at 2-1 heading into their next competition. The Petrels will look to regroup and get back into the win column as they prepare for Saturday's game.
