ATLANTA—In the Stormy Petrels' final regular-season game, freshmen Keimarya Rivera and Morgan Skipper both posted double-doubles to storm past Berry 65-54.
After the Vikings had won the first contest between the two teams earlier this season by a single point, the Petrels got their revenge as they outscored Berry all four quarters in tonight's contest. A 20-point fourth-quarter performance from Oglethorpe's offense was the determining factor in the win as the first three quarters were neck and neck all throughout.Â
Skipper's 12 points and career-high 11 rebounds earned the local freshman her first collegiate double-double. She also posted three assists and one block. As for Rivera, this marked the sixth double-double of her freshman campaign. She finished the competition with 19 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 70% from the free-throw line in 32 minutes on the court.Â
Redshirt sophomore Olivia Tucker followed with 10 points of her own while adding four rebounds and two assists. Five other Petrels got involved in the scoring action, a true team effort as every player who stepped on the court for Oglethorpe found their way into the scoring column.
This win advanced Oglethorpe to 13-11 on the season and 7-7 in Southern Athletic Association Play, moving them currently into the fifth seed before the SAA tournament.
