ATLANTA – The Stormy Petrels refused to give up while facing the Pfeiffer Falcons, but a grim start led Oglethorpe to fall 14-2.Â
Goalie Addison Irwin set the school record with a career high of 42 saves after facing 71 shots. As a team, the Petrels took 12 shots on goal and scooped 15 groundballs.Â
Oglethorpe's two goals came toward the end of the game, where the team's endurance started to pay off. Richard Bedgood IV scored late in the third quarter, thanks to assistance from Carsen Van Note. In the fourth quarter, Israel Pendleton-Moore scored with an assist from Max Brand. Pfeiffer made one final goal to claim a 14-2 victory.Â
