WALESKA, Ga. - In their second game of the season, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels suffered a 22-2 loss to the Reinhardt Eagles.
Carsen Van Note and Richard Bedgood IV each recorded a goal for Oglethorpe, while goalie Addison Irwin recorded 18 saves.
Reinhardt managed to completely overwhelm Oglethorpe during the first and second periods, climbing to a 12-0 lead. Hinton Chandler was able to take a shot on goal during the third quarter, but it was saved by Reinhardt goalie Brenden Pecora. Irwin recorded 10 saves between the two periods.
After halftime, the Eagles continued to overwhelm the Petrels, as Reinhardt was able to raise the score to 15-0 in their favor by the end of the third period.
Van Note recorded Oglethorpe's first goal early in the fourth quarter, which was met with more pressure from the Eagles. Bedgood recorded the team's second goal later in the period, but Reinhardt continued to score in the few minutes remaining. In contrast to Oglethorpe's victorious season opener earlier this week, the Stormy Petrels fell 22-2 to the Reinhardt Eagles.

- Oglethorpe's record is now 1-1.
- Reinhardt reigns as one of the top programs in the NAIA having claimed the NAIA title for the past five years in a row. The Eagles went 14-1 last season.
- The Petrels have only faced the Eagles once before, on Feb. 22, 2011, which resulted in a 9-6 win for Oglethorpe.
- Collin Sides scooped five ground balls.
