DEMOREST, Ga. - After a challenging night at Piedmont, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fell 24-3 to the Lions. Â
Richard Bedgood IV, Jeremiah James and Carsen Van Note each recorded a goal, while Max Brand recorded one assist. Goalie Addison Irwin recorded 20 saves. Â
Bedgood scored Oglethorpe's first goal merely 30 seconds into the game, but the Petrels were unable to hold their lead for long, as Piedmont would score seven times in the first period.
The second quarter seemed to promise a redemption, starting off with a goal from Van Note. Before Piedmont could score, James made his first goal of the season. However, the Lions scored the next five goals, sending Oglethorpe into halftime down 13-3. Â
The third and fourth quarters were grim for Oglethorpe, as Piedmont refused to hold back. The Lions recorded 11 more goals between the two periods, giving the Petrels a 24-3 loss in their second road game. Â Â
