Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse | | Chloe Clemensen

Men's lacrosse falls to Rhodes

ATLANTA – In one of their final home games of the season, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fell 13-3 to the Rhodes Lynx.

Jazz Washington led Oglethorpe with two goals, while Max Brand followed with one goal and one assist. Goalkeeper Addison Irwin recorded 20 saves.

Washington and Brand each scored a goal in the first quarter, with Brand's setting the score at 2-2. However, this would be the only point Oglethorpe came close to gaining the lead. The Lynx ended the first quarter with a 5-2 lead, and continued to overwhelm the Petrels for the remainder of the game.

Washington scored his second goal, Oglethorpe's final goal, in the middle of the third quarter during a man-up opportunity. Unfortunately, Rhodes had already amassed a large lead, and defeated the Petrels 13-3.

Game Notes

  • Washington took six shots to lead Oglethorpe.
  • The team scooped 24 ground balls.
  • Irwin also led in ground balls, picking up eight.
