Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Levy scores twice in Petrels’ second-half storm

LAGRANGE, Ga.—A second-half onslaught saw the Oglethorpe men's soccer team make easy work of LaGrange Wednesday night on the road as the Stormy Petrels scored three times after the break to beat the Panthers 3-0.

Adrian Levy shined in the nonconference matchup with two goals and an assist, including the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute. It broke the scoreless deadlock and opened the door for a barrage of attacking attempts for Oglethorpe over the remainder of the period.

Felipe Ferreira made it 2-0 with a counterattacking goal in the 69th minute, assisted by Levy, and Levy then rounded out the scoring less than 90 seconds later with an unassisted goal in the 70th minute.

In the meantime, the Stormy Petrels pounded LaGrange's back line and peppered a pair of goalkeepers with attacking chance after attacking chance. Chris Veglia and Javier Aponte had a couple of chances in quick succession in the 60th minute before Aponte and Garen Presnal had a couple of chances in quick succession in the 83rd minute following one of Oglethorpe's 13 corner kicks.
