Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s soccer dominates in battle of the birds

MONTGOMERY, Ala.—Picking up right where it left off two nights ago at LaGrange, the Oglethorpe men's soccer team put together another storm, this time in the first half against the Huntingdon Hawks, to come away with a 6-0 victory Friday night on the road. The win improved the Stormy Petrels to 4-1-1 on the year and marked their second straight shutout.

JR Cozine got the scoring going in the 14th minute and the Petrels never looked back. Following a shot that he missed off the post a few moments earlier, Cozine made a great run and received a great pass from Nicolas Sciarra to set up the scoring opportunity. Cozine beat the keeper with a low shot to the right side to make it 1-0.

From there, Oglethorpe took off with three more goals over the next 12 minutes to put the game away.

Ben Alram scored in the 19th minute, Cozine again in the 24th minute, and Sciarra less than 70 seconds after that to put Oglethorpe ahead 4-0 at the break. Garen Presnal (52nd) and Chris Veglia (79th) then scored in the second half to round out Oglethorpe's scoring.
