JACKSON, Miss. - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fell 69-61 after an uphill battle with the Millsaps Majors. Perry Robinson led with 17 points and six rebounds.
Behind Robinson, Jackson Kemp recorded his second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Malachi Dooley recorded 12 points and two assists while Jordan James had 10 points and three assists.
The game began with jumpers from James and Robinson, giving Oglethorpe the early advantage. But the Majors soon responded and went on to gain the lead. The first half was tough for the Petrels as Millsaps managed to build a decent lead and barred Oglethorpe from breaking it. Head coach Philip Ponder's men kept fighting, but headed into halftime trailing 34-27.
Millsaps continued to play aggressively in the second half, and although the Petrels were able to recover some ground, Oglethorpe could not make a comeback. The Stormy Petrels dropped the Southern Athletic Association game 69-61.Â
