ROANOKE, Va.—Keimarya Rivera scored 19 on Sunday and 26 on Monday to lead the Oglethorpe women's basketball team to its fifth straight win. The Stormy Petrels defeated Ferrum 52-46 Sunday night and Roanoke 66-49 Monday evening in an end-of-2024 tournament hosted by Roanoke.
Rivera earned tournament MVP on the all-tournament team alongside Malia Melton.
It was a battle of defenses in the first game of the trip, as Oglethorpe was held to its season low against Ferrum but also held Ferrum under 50 to mark the second time this season Oglethorpe held its opponent under 50. Oglethorpe led 38-36 at the end of the third quarter before starting the final period on a 6-0 run to help seal the deal.
Ferrum got the game back to two but Oglethorpe again answered with a 6-0 run.
The Petrels posted their third best defensive effort of the season in Monday's win when they held host Roanoke to 49 points. It was only an eight-point game at the end of the third quarter, but another great run in the fourth sent the Petrels to victory.
This one came in the form of a 7-0 run midway through the final period to give Oglethorpe a 15-point lead, and the Petrels would hold on easily from there.

- Rivera (19) and Sheraton Foster (11) both hit double figures in the win over Ferrum.
- Malia Melton had five points and nine rebounds Sunday, then nine points and 15 rebounds Monday. Her 15 rebounds marked a career high.
- Rivera had 26 points and nine rebounds Monday, going 12-for-14 from the field.
- Foster also hit double figures with Rivera again, scoring 11.
- Oglethorpe is now 6-2 all-time against Ferrum and 2-0 against Roanoke.
