ATLANTA—Keimarya Rivera scored her 1,000th career point Sunday afternoon in an 81-61 loss Oglethorpe suffered to Emory in a nonconference game in Dorough Field House.
Rivera, who tallied her 500th career rebound on Dec. 15 of this season, became only the seventh player in Oglethorpe's NCAA Division III era to reach 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. She is the 12th player with 1,000 points and 16th player with 500 rebounds.
Rivera led the Stormy Petrels with 18 on 7-of-11 shooting, adding seven rebounds and two steals. Montana Harris followed with 14, and Sheraton Foster scored 10.
Oglethorpe hung close through the first 20 minutes, trailing by nine at the break, but Emory continued to build upon its lead early in the second half to secure the win.
