Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Chloe Clemensen

Final minutes prove fatal at Rhodes

MEMPHIS– The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels played an excellent first half at Rhodes, but the Lynx made it out with a 90-82 win. Perry Robinson led with his seventh double-double of the season, recording 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Behind Robinson, Malachi Dooley scored 17 points and Jordan James had 10 while Jackson Kemp and Dylan Pumpian made nine points and three assists each. Kemp also had six rebounds and James had two steals.

Dooley dropped four points to kick off the game, and Rhodes was slow to respond. The Lynx and the Petrels went back and forth for a majority of the first period, until Jackson Kemp and Mason Kemp combined 3-pointers to put Oglethorpe up 26-21. Rhodes fought back, but never gained a significant advantage. Oglethorpe ended the first half up 47-37 after clean shooting from Robinson.

The Petrels kept the Lynx at bay until the latter half of the second period. With nine minutes left in the game, Rhodes managed a 3-pointer that put them ahead at 63-61. Oglethorpe came close to regaining the lead several times just through free throws, but the Petrels were unable to regain their stamina from the first period. Dooley closed the game he started with a last-second layup, but the Petrels fell 90-82.
