Moir hits big milestone but Petrels narrowly fall

ATLANTA—Oglethorpe senior Ally Moir notched her school-record 200th career goal with six tallies on the day, but the Stormy Petrels lost a close game to Centre, 19-17, Saturday early afternoon in a Southern Athletic Association contest.

Moir entered the game with 198 career goals. She scored one in the first quarter when Oglethorpe erased a 4-0 deficit with an 8-0 run to take an 8-4 lead. Her second and career No. 200 goal was a go-ahead goal in the second quarter to make it 10-9, then she scored twice in each quarter of the second half to round out her scoring on the day.

Both Moir goals in the third quarter broke a tie.

Oglethorpe led 14-13 but a 4-0 run from Centre, the current SAA leader at 3-0 in the league, put the Colonels into the lead for good.
