Muskingum spoils senior day

ATLANTA - The Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels celebrated senior day with a strong first half but fell 14-9 to the Muskingum Fighting Muskies.

Before the game, this year's five seniors were honored: Robbie Coull, Travis McDonald, Israel Pendleton-Moore, Javier Martinez and Chris McDowell. Each player received a framed O.

Quade Bedgood, Pendleton-Moore and Jazz Washington each scored two goals. Robbie Coull made two assists and recovered six groundballs. Hayden Fricke caused two turnovers, and goalie Xay Duax made 12 saves.

Max Brand made the first goal of the game, but Muskingum was quick to respond. Bedgood made the final goal of the period, ending a well-played first quarter at a 2-2 draw. McDonald and Washington combined to give Oglethorpe a two-goal lead in the beginning of the second quarter, but the Muskies managed to run away with the rest of the period. After an evenly matched first half, Oglethorpe headed into halftime down 6-4.

Muskingum dominated the third quarter, managing to build a lead Oglethorpe would be unable to break. The Petrels regained some of their fire in the fourth quarter, but even after a late goal from Washington, the Petrels fell 14-9.
