Men’s soccer wins second straight at Maryville

MARYVILLE, Tenn.—The Oglethorpe men's soccer program picked up a 3-0 win at Maryville Friday night in a nonconference road game.

The score was even between both sides in the first half. However, the first goal of the night came for Oglethorpe in the 65th minute. JR Cozine turned and fired a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner. It was the senior's first goal of the season.

Chris Veglia doubled the team's lead in the 79th minute. Adrian Levy's free kick shot went off the post and Veglia was there to smash home the rebound. It was the sophomore's first goal of the season.

Adrian Levy wrapped up the scoring in the 86th minute. After intercepting the ball, Javier Aponte passed it forward to Levy as he shot it into the left corner from 18 yards out. It was the senior's fifth goal of the season.

It was a great win for the team as the Stormy Petrels got back in the winning column as they have now won two back-to-back matches for the first time this season.
