Wild win for Petrels in SAA opener

DANVILLE, Ky.—Two ties and one lead change all in the second half highlighted the Oglethorpe men's soccer team's 4-2 road victory over Centre Saturday afternoon in the Southern Athletic Association opener. It marked the Stormy Petrels' third straight win.

Centre got out front first in the first 45 minutes of play with a goal from CC Saviello in the 20th minute. The score then remained 1-0 through the intermission before Ben Alram equalized in the 46th minute and Adrian Levy gave Oglethorpe the go-ahead goal in the 49th minute.

The two goals happened in a span of 3:08 and looked to put the Petrels ahead for good, but Centre answered in the 56th minute to tie the game once again.

With a draw looming close as the game neared the 60th minute knotted at 2-2, Alram once again came through, this time with the go-ahead goal, the eventual winner in the 60th minute.

Levy also scored once again to give the Petrels some added cushion in the 83rd minute to help the team wrap up three points toward the SAA regular-season standings.
