CONWAY, Ark.—Sheraton Forster led all scorers with 22 points, among which were two made free throws with 1.2 seconds left to lift Oglethorpe to a 70-68 win over Hendrix Sunday afternoon on the road.
Foster's last-second, game-winning free throws came after Oglethorpe erased an eight-point second half deficit. In fact, the Stormy Petrels stormed into the lead with a 6-0 run then an 8-0 run in the third quarter which set up an exciting fourth.
It was a single-possession game the whole final quarter, with both teams retaking the lead at some point. Brooke Herdman had a huge basket inside the final two minutes, sending Oglethorpe to a 68-66 lead. Then after Hendrix tied the game near the one-minute mark, both teams traded turns taking the lead until Foster drew a foul on the final possession with 1.2 seconds left.
Calmly, Foster knocked them both down, then even made a great play on the inbound to thwart any last-second attempt from the Warriors.
Game Notes
- Foster's 22 points were four shy of her career high. She went 6-for-11 from the field and 2-for-5 from the perimeter. She also made 8-of-9 from the free-throw line.
