Petrels draw regular-season finale

ROME, Ga.—Huge defensive efforts by the Oglethorpe women's soccer team led to a shutout draw versus the Berry Vikings in the last regular season match of the 2025 season. Goalkeeper Katherine Crim finished with eight saves.

An early save in the sixth minute by Crim set the defensive tone for the first half. Allyssa Hearn returned the fire for the Petrels with a shot to the bottom center but it was contained by the Vikings. Additional shots by Delaney Hanks, Evan Thomas, Gabi Plaia and Harlow Cregar shifted the offensive momentum to the Petrels after five back-to-back shots from Berry. Crim finished the half with four saves.

Coming out of halftime, the Vikings took a plethora of shots in the first 15 minutes, yet contained by the Petrel backline and goalkeeping efforts by Crim. Myleigh Oglesby had a shot on goal attempting to advance the score but could not capitalize. Two more saves after that continued to keep the Vikings at bay and running out of time, the Petrels ended in a stalemate tie.
