ATLANTA—A career high 24 points from Anna Conza plus the ninth double-double of the season from Keimarya Rivera highlighted a big day for Oglethorpe's women's basketball team on Sunday. The Stormy Petrels hosted Rhodes in the quarterfinals of the Southern Athletic Association tournament and advanced past the Lynx 79-69.
Oglethorpe led 57-51 after a bit of a run from Rhodes in the fourth quarter, but Rivera and Conza both came up big to help the Petrels pull back away. Rivera scored a tough basket inside, then Conza followed moments later with a clutch 3-pointer that put Oglethorpe ahead by double figures.
Rhodes' last gasp was a 5-0 run in the last three minutes that brought it to three, 70-67, with under two minutes left, but Mia Geveke had a big answer this time, knocking down a triple from the corner to help seal the game. It started a 9-0 run as Oglethorpe clinched it at the free-throw line.
