LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.—Isaiah Pou hit a three-run shot in the third, Trey Kinnan hit a grand slam in the fourth, and Oglethorpe topped Covenant 10-6 Tuesday on the road. The win was Oglethorpe's second straight and ninth in the last 11 games.
After a Pou RBI single in the first, it was 1-1 after two when Pou sent his fourth homer of the season over the left-field fence. An inning later, Covenant had trimmed the lead to 4-3 when Kinnan hit a line-drive shot over the fence down the right-field line, driving in Jonathan Cruz, Jaxson Corr and Shane Newsome for his first career home run.
Pou would then touch home plate twice more in the game to round out the scoring for the Stormy Petrels. Ethan Snipes drove him in on a two-out single to left in the fifth, then Aiden Hosford drove him in on a one-out double to left in the seventh.
Parker Spring (1-1) picked up the win in relief after going three and two-third innings across the third through sixth. Tate Henderson earned his first save after finishing the game with three perfect innings across the seventh through ninth. Henderson struck out three.
Game Notes
- Pou led the Petrels at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs and four RBI's. He also had a double and was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.
- Corr went 3-for-4 with two runs.
- Kinnan went 1-for-4 with one run and four RBI's.
- Pou's homer was his fourth of the year and eighth of his career.

Oglethorpe returns to Southern Athletic Association play this weekend for a three-game home series against Centre. The Petrels will have a rematch against Covenant next Tuesday at home.
