Perez sets school record but Petrels fall at Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. - After a game for the books, the Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels fell 13-7 to the Centre Colonels as Southern Athletic Association play continues to heat up.

Goalie Tori Perez made 14 saves to reach 538 career saves. She now holds the program record for career saves. Makenna Bowens scored four goals and Anna Conza made two. Savannha Freeman had four ground balls and three caused turnovers.

Centre racked up a 4-0 lead before Conza put the Petrels on the board. Bowens followed suit, but the Colonels scored once more before the end of the first period. Freeman was the first but only Petrel to score in the second period. Centre pushed their lead to 8-3 by halftime.

The last half of the game mirrored the first, with Centre keeping control of their lead. The Colonels even made the final goal, cementing Oglethorpe's 13-7 loss.

Game Notes

  • Oglethorpe went 16-20 on clears and won 15 draw controls.
  • The previous career saves record was 527 by Jordan Chandler '21.
  • Alexandra Clark recorded a season high of caused turnovers.

Up Next

The Stormy Petrels will remain on the road, competing at Berry on Tuesday, April 8, at 6 p.m. The final home game of the season and senior day will be Saturday, April 12, at 12 p.m. against Rhodes.
