ATLANTA—It took just 26 seconds for Oglethorpe to get on the board with the game's first goal, and in the end the Stormy Petrels secured a 14-9 victory over Randolph on Sunday afternoon.
Joshua Tamarkin had the early tally, one of his game-high and season-high five on the afternoon, with an assist from Israel Pendleton-Moore before assisting the next one from Noah Stroud as Oglethorpe made it 2-0 within the first five minutes of the game.
Randolph cut the deficit in half at 2-1 midway through the first quarter, then again cut it to one, 3-2, after a Pendleton-Moore goal near the six and a half minute mark. But a goal late in the first quarter from Noah Stroud and another goal early in the second quarter from Tamarkin started a stretch of five unanswered by the Stormy Petrels leading into the halftime break.
It was 8-2 in the third quarter before Randolph finally found the back of the net again. By then, Oglethorpe was already well on its way to victory.
